Everlast Gyms are a UK and Ireland-based chain of fitness centers, owned by Frasers Group, that offer a hybrid gym experience combining traditional gym floors with boutique group training concepts like Hustle and Haymaker.

Skratch® engineered a next-generation AV ecosystem that redefines traditional gym environments—transforming them into immersive, data-driven, and highly interactive fitness spaces.

In December 2021, Everlast Gyms launched its first elevated site in Denton, marking the beginning of a new era in fitness. With over 60 locations across the UK and Ireland, Everlast has positioned itself as a pioneer in hybrid gym experiences—merging the scale of big-box fitness with the intimacy of boutique studios.

This transformation isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about redefining how members feel, move, and engage. Studies show that immersive environments can increase workout motivation by up to 30%, and Everlast members have responded enthusiastically to the elevated experience, citing improved energy, focus, and enjoyment during sessions.

To support this vision, Skratch® was commissioned to design and deploy a fully integrated, tech-forward AV solution that would deliver immersive experiences, streamline operations, and scale seamlessly across the brand’s expanding footprint.

THE CHALLENGE

Everlast Gyms sought a solution that would:

  • Deliver a powerful, zoned audio experience tailored to different gym areas

  • Integrate high-impact digital signage for branding, promotions, and live content

  • Provide localised control for instructors and staff

  • Ensure centralised content management with the flexibility for local updates

  • Be scalable across multiple locations with consistent quality and performance

OUR APPROACH

Skratch® collaborated with the Frasers Group design and innovation teams to engineer a modular AV infrastructure, beginning with a proof-of-concept deployment at Everlast Denton. The system was built with scalability, interoperability, and user experience at its core.

Cloud-Driven Audio Control Interface
Skratch® developed an industry-first intuitive interface enabling studio-level control. Trainers can access pre-configured playlists or switch inputs via a secure cloud-based platform. The audio system features:

  • Zoned speaker arrays and subwoofers

  • Directional sound mapping

  • High-volume output for events

  • Real-time input switching

Digital Signage & CMS
Philips Professional Displays were selected for their system-on-chip architecture, enabling seamless integration with Skratch’s proprietary CMS. Features include:

  • Real-time content updates

  • MyZone application display

  • Digitised menu boards for product promotion

  • Centralised content distribution with local override capabilities

Scalability & Future Enhancements

The AV ecosystem is designed for long-term adaptability. Skratch’s modular architecture supports:

  • Touchscreen control interfaces for lighting and audio

  • Region-specific content deployment via Skratch's CMS

  • Event-based AV presets for live sessions and promotions
